Due to recent growth at Barloworld Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen in Moorabbin and Mornington, an opportunity has presented for a Senior Accountant to join the team at our Dealerships. The right candidate will be an experienced Accountant, combined with a warm communication style and ability to quickly build relationships. The candidate will need to hit the ground running to ensure professionalism and success are achieved as this is a priority position. You will have an ability to multi-task and a sense of urgency for results and goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Recording and Reporting
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in: the production of internal and external Dealership reports; the submission of statutory returns and payment of taxes, rates and other imposts.
- Maintain financial records in the manner required both for internal purposes and as dictated by legislation.
- Process standing journal entries, end of month accruals and other end of month adjustments to reconcile management accounts with trial balance.
- Perform various reports for the Financial Controller.
- Calculate monthly management and employee incentives and commissions.
- Review and manage General Ledger schedules to ensure that any outstanding items are actioned timeously.
Management Reporting
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts.
Accountability
- Recording and reporting procedures regulated by external bodies are adhered to.
- Financial reports and reconciliations are produced accurately and by the required date.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Significant experience in an administrative role with a substantial time in an automotive Dealership.
- Thorough knowledge in the areas of tax, cash flow, cost accounting and financial accounting.
- Commitment to ongoing study to update skills and knowledge.
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting and CPA highly desirable.
- Significant experience in ERA and Microsoft Excel.
