Due to continued growth Barloworld Volkswagen Glen Waverley requires the professional services and skills of a qualified technician. The right candidate will be a mature minded and competent mechanic, with good knowledge in modern automotive systems and a strong customer service focus. You will have excellent communication and problem solving skills and be able to work unsupervised and in a team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carry out vehicle repairs and/or maintenance as per the repair order to Volkswagen and Dealership requirements and report directly to the General Foreman whenever this cannot be done.
- Plan each job for maximum efficiency. Order parts (where necessary) from Parts and Accessories Department immediately.
- Maintain a sound knowledge of all Dealership products and services.
- Request assistance from the General Foreman when diagnosis of problem jobs is required.
- Follow correct procedures when carrying out warranty work and ensure all warranty parts are tagged with the correct information and placed in warranty storage.
- Be responsible for the care and use of all workshop tools and equipment and return to correct place after use.
- Correctly complete all works as per Standard Repair Times Guide.
- Legibly complete all paperwork correctly with all details regarding works carried out and/or parts ordered.
- Maintain familiarity with and follow Dealership procedures when obtaining or ordering parts.
- Keep a complete and up-to-date tool kit.
- Maintain workbench and bay areas in a clean, orderly and attractive state.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Qualified automotive technician.
- Current driver’s licence, if eligible.
- Excellent Communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong team player.
